It is a popular belief that Anne did not want to play Laurie Strode for John Carpenter's Halloween, a film from 1978. Jaime Lee Curtis was cast in its place. Carpenter says the actress was on his list to play the character, but that she rejected it. Anne states that she doesn't recall being contacted or offered the part in any way by John Carpenter. It could be that her agent turned it off without notifying Anne. Glen Larson, who had given her the initial draft script of a character in the tv show Battlestar Galactica from 1978, initially chose her. She initially refused the part since the character wasn't powerful. Glen came up with a completely new character for herself, using Sheba as a more powerful persona. The Living Legend was accepted following her reading of the original 25 page script. The show ran for just one season. The actress was in Joyride, a 1977 movie co-starring Desi Arnaz Jr. Melanie Griffith Robert Carradine (son Desi Arnaz Jr. Lucille and Lucille) and with Robert Carradine.
